This summer, COHI is excited and thankful to have two high school interns on board! Sarah Shields and Zoe Lane have been instrumental in getting our Teen Board off the ground and we look forward to keeping them involved until they go off to college.

Name: Sarah Shields

Location: Austin, TX

School: Westlake High School

COHI: How did you learn about Circle of Health?

S: I heard about Circle of Health through I group that I am apart of called I Am That Girl. The Austin Chapter President of I Am That Girl suggested I meet Sera Bonds and get involved with Circle of Health.

COHI: What made you want to get involved with COHI?

S: I have always felt strongly about empowering and helping women. Being apart of COHI is such an amazing experience.

COHI: What are you most looking forward to about the Teen Board?

S: I am most excited to be able to work with the women of COHI and the women we are helping. The Teen Board will be a great way to start helping these women.

COHI: What are you thinking about for plans after high school?

S: I want to always be helping people. I would love to do tons of mission trips throughout and after college. Working for a non-profit like COHI is something I can see myself doing.

COHI: If you had to name one female role model, who would it be and why?

S: One woman that I have really gotten to know is Alexis Jones. She started I Am That Girl which is a wonderful organization and she is an amazing woman. She is so helpful and fun and she is my biggest role model.

COHI: What is your favorite place in Austin and why?

S: My favorite place in Austin is Amy's Ice cream. Not only do they have the most amazing ice cream in the entire world, the atmosphere is so much fun and the tricks they can do are amazing!

COHI: What other clubs, activities, or hobbies are you involved in?

S: I am involved in Choir, Girl Scouts, and I Am That Girl. I love playing guitar and piano. Music is one of my passions.

COHI: If you could leave on a trip tomorrow to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

S: I would go to India. I have always been interested in their culture and I would also love to go there on a mission trip. I would love to be able to work with the women there and help educate them.
