Over the last two and a half years of the conflict in Syria, the outside world has been focused primarily on the conflict’s political causes and its consequences for civilians. What has gotten much less attention so far is the conflict's roots in climate change.

Over the last few weeks, the U.S. Administration and other governmental authorities have referred to reports from several agencies, including Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), while stating that the use of chemical weapons in Syria was "undeniable", and it now seems that U.S. missile strikes in Syria are imminent.

This summer, COHI is excited and thankful to have two high school interns on board! Last week we introduced Sarah Shields and this week we're featuring Zoe Lane. These two have been instrumental in getting our Teen Board off the ground and we look forward to keeping them involved until they go off to college.

If you weren't at Iron & Wine's concert at the Paramount Theater on Saturday, you missed out on an amazing evening of midwife mingling and spine-tingling music. Every summer, Sam Beam performs an acoustic set benefitting the Midwives Alliance of North America. His wife, Kim Beam is a midwife and they live with their five beautiful daughters in Dripping Springs, TX.
